Buried Heart started as a conversation. It started as a need to express outrage. Or, maybe, it was a kind thought. Or a complicated feeling about what we have all discovered is going on here. Women are vanishing. They are vanishing before most of us have even noticed they are here. They are vanishing like ghosts, because to notice them is to see each one of us. Our neglect, our cruelty, our simple indifference to the suffering brought most of them here in the first place.
