Brais, Malouin & Associates (BMA) was founded in March 1991 in Montreal, Canada. We are an energy engineering consulting firm specialized in combustion and numerical simulation (CFD). Over the years, we have completed projects in many energy intensive industries including the pulp & paper, mining & metallurgical, and petrochemical industries. BMA has been a pioneer in many engineering R&D projects and product development.

BMA conducted a series of projects for two 25 MW bark-fired thermal oil boilers for a fiberboard manufacturer, each boiler being equipped with Wellons cells in order to reduce the particulate carryover which was causing frequent shutdowns for cleaning of the convection tube banks. The work carried out began with a study to pinpoint the cause of the problem and provide solutions, and was followed by implementation of several recommendations.

BMA’s mission is to combine our knowledge and expertise in energy engineering, combustion, and numerical simulation in order to develop innovative and economical solutions for our clients that will also be beneficial to the environment.
