At 16" thick, this block is the ultimate end grain chopping surface, designed for heavy food chopping. Constructed of end grain hard sugar maple, the Monarch is designed to handle all of your chopping needs. These blocks can be found in restaurants and butcher shops around the world. Many of them have been in service for over 30 years!

The Black Loon Trading Company was founded by a group of business people and friends that recognized a need to present authentic, high-quality, Canadian-manufactured products to an international marketplace. The name originated from their original purchase of inventory from "Black Loon Millworks International" - a manufacturer of high-quality solid wood products, who closed their doors in 2011. Motivated by the incredible quality and workmanship in the products, the group has set out to help other Canadian manufacturers market their products to the world.
