Biz Books opened in the fall of 1996. After 6 years of providing Vancouver with film, television and theatre resources at that location it was time for more space so in April of 2001 a new location was found and Biz Books moved to its current home at 302 West Cordova in the beautiful historic section of Vancouver known as Gastown. Long a hub for Vancouver's creative communities, Gastown was the right place for this special bookstore. Biz Books fit right in to its new neighbourhood surrounded by artists, photographers, film students, acting schools, production companies, animation studios and many of the city's top talent agencies. This made it even easier for the Biz Books to build on its reputation as the place where working professionals congregate to get the latest industry information, and the haven where newcomers are welcomed and assisted.
