Martina is a long time industry professional who has worked with seniors in retirement homes for the past 14 years. Her commitment to developing and implementing many programs that inspire, motivate and stimulate the mind and body is her primary focus at Birkdale Place.

Karen has completed studies in Food Nutrition Management, and her knowledge in this area helps us to ensure all our menus meet or exceed the nutritional standards of Canada's Food Guide. In addition, Karen has extensive experience in working in the Retirement home industry, and in supervising special events. She is responsible for supervising the service in our beautiful Dining Room, and greatly enjoys the opportunity to get to know the residents and their families.

Our dining room is well-appointed and provides a relaxing atmosphere for you to enjoy when dining with friends. Meal times are flexible and entree choices are plentiful. There is even a private dining room for your special family get together. We also have a Cafe that is open 24 hours to provide coffee, juice, snacks or fruit. We work carefully with special diets and even host gourmet events on a regular basis.

Since we are located right next to Milton Hospital, you have immediate access to medical care should you have any kind of medical emergency. We provide free shuttle service to the hospital so that you can meet with your doctor and receive the medical care that you need. You can even walk or use your motor scooter to travel over to Milton Hospital if you feel so inclined, since it is literally just minutes away.
