Bhat Boy is an artist based in Ottawa who works primarily as a painter and author. Born in London, England, in 1965, he immigrated to Canada in 1966 and studied Fine Arts at the Ontario College of Art and Design, including a year in Florence, Italy. After a career at Barclays Bank, a terrorist attack in 1992 prompted a full-time shift to art. Throughout the 1990s, he exhibited internationally in the U.S., Britain, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. Since settling in Ottawa, he has completed public commissions and founded the New Art Festival, Eastern Ontario's largest annual art event, celebrating its 25th anniversary. Driven to create paintings, drawings, and books, Bhat Boy aims to share his unique vision with the world, living with his husband and four cats in Ottawa, where he enjoys traveling, mapmaking, and tea.
