Gordon Denford has been building homes in Western Canada for over 50 years. In the mid 1980s Mr. Denford wanted to create a residence that was specifically designed for seniors, something that exceeded the standards of the day. It had to incorporate state-of-the-art communication systems within a purpose-built building. It also had to offer a full range of exceptional amenities and services within a caring community setting. Above all, it needed to be a “step up” for residents—a place that exceeded all expectations of what a retirement residence could be. His experience, research and discussion with seniors groups and leading local consultants, ultimately led to the creation of Berwick House Victoria in 1989. With the success of that first venture, he continued to raise the bar with four additional resort-style retirement communities, each individually unique and built specifically for their location.

Sergeant Colin Brown has served for over 15 years as a member of the Victoria Police Department. Working in numerous sections including Patrol, the Crime Reduction Unit, and the Greater Victoria Emergency Team, Sgt. Colin Brown, like his Grandfather, Larry Thomas, has served with honour, integrity, and selflessness.

Sergeant Michael Brown has served for over 18 years as a member of the Victoria Police Department. Working in numerous sections including Patrol, the Strike Force Unit, Professional Standards, and the Greater Victoria Emergency Team, Sgt. Michael Brown, like his Grandfather and older brother has served with honour, integrity, and selflessness.

On Saturday May 4th, the Campbell River Hospice Society will be hosting its 12th Annual Angel Rock Benefit and Dance at the Campbell River sportsplex. All monies raised during Angel Rock are used towards providing counseling services, workshops and support groups to all members of our community and surrounding area, free of charge. The Angel Rock benefit and dance will include catering by Royal Coachman Inn, Casino games, Live & Silent auctions - and dancing the night away until 1am! When Berwick Retirement Communities was founded in 1989, owners Gordon and Chris Denford actively embraced supporting local community groups, events and causes. Since that time, their heart for the community continues to beat strong within each of the Berwick communities as we broaden our reach and strengthen our partnerships with a variety of events and organizations.
