Description

The Searcy name which became synonymous in the Trucking industry in Manitoba is now establishing a new name in Heavy Truck Sales and Service. In October of 1996 Barry Searcy visited the Volvo Truck Plant in Greensboro, North Carolina for the launch of the new VN model. The quality and engineering of the truck impressed Barry such that he purchased a Volvo franchise and founded what is known today as Beaver Truck Centre. By January of 1997 the first phase of renovations to an old building began. By April with offices, showrooms, a Parts Department and a staff of 16, Beaver Truck Centre opened for business then known as Volvo Manitoba Truck Centre. In May construction of a new state of the art 14 bay Service Department started and was completed for the dealership's grand opening in September.
