Bear Valley Rescue

Bear Valley Rescue, founded in 2004 and federally registered as a charity in 2005, is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing unwanted horses, particularly those from pmu farms. Located on 40 acres in west-central Alberta, the rescue provides care for an average of 150 horses on-site, with additional horses in foster homes. The organization accepts donations of cash, in-kind items like hay, and offers monthly sponsorship programs. It also provides veterinary care, dental services, and facilitates adoptions through its website. The rescue emphasizes humane treatment, regular veterinary check-ups, and finding permanent homes for the animals it cares for, while also supporting senior and special-needs horses with customized feeding and medication regimens.
