Barrett Marketing Group Ltd. (BMG), formerly known as Eastern
Marketing Ltd., was founded in 1972 to market marine products in
Atlantic Canada. The company enjoyed swift growth, establishing a diverse dealer network and expanding its represented lines.
More importantly, Eastern Marketing and the Barretts obtained an in-depth knowledge of the distribution business and the risks and rewards involved in the business.

Over the years, Barrett Marketing Group expanded from strictly marine product distribution. In 1984, Barrett Marketing Group secured the right to distribute Arctic Cat snowmobiles throughout Eastern Canada. Although Arctic Cat decided to distribute direct to dealers in 1995, Barrett Marketing Group had established itself as an expert in national product distribution including the creation of dealer networks and management and product distribution coordination.

Since 1995, BMG has expanded its business. The company includes four divisions including Recreation, Outdoor Power Equipment,
Motorcycle and Sporting Goods. Recreation products include EZ
Loader’s full line of marine trailers, Ocean Kayak’s full line of fiberglass and inflatable kayaks and Old Town Canoe along with many others. The Outdoor Power Equipment lines include
Exmark Lawn Mowers, Honda Engines, BCS Garden Equipment and
Kawasaki lawn and garden equipment. The Motorcycle division includes such names as KTM, Husaberg and Troy Lee. The
Watersports division includes a wide variety of products including such names as O’Brien, LA Ski and Jet Pilot.

Employing more than 90 people, Barrett Marketing Group is one of
Canada’s largest independent recreational distribution companies. Headquartered in Woodstock, N.B., Barrett Marketing
Group has six regional distribution and administration centres in Langley, B.C., Spruce Grove, Alta., Winnipeg, Man.,
Brampton, Ont., Woodstock, N.B., and Lindsay, Ont.
