Description

Barber Engineering and Controls Ltd. traces its roots to the beginning of the Alberta oil business. The Company was started by James E. Barber (now deceased) back in 1938 to service those who first sought oil and gas in Alberta's Turner Valley. When oil was discovered in the Leduc area, Barber Engineering setup an office and warehouse in Edmonton in 1947. Alberta's oil business has enjoyed up and down economies since 1938. Barber Engineering has survived and prospered through it all. Recognizing that it could not be "all things to all people", Barber Engineering became an instrument specialty house. The company concentrates its efforts on measurement and control equipment. It represents major instrument manufacturers and also has developed the internal capacity to fabricate specialized products. Barber Engineering appreciates that its first responsibility is customer satisfaction. The oil industry's operations require prompt and reliable service from knowledgeable representatives, Barber Engineering fulfills these requirements by maintaining extensive inventories of instruments and spare parts in its Edmonton and Calgary warehouses. Two Barber Engineering affiliates fulfill the needs of our customers in British Columbia (B.G. Controls) and Saskatchewan (Barber Valve and Controls). All of Barber Engineering's staff are knowledgeable in their areas of responsibility and all appreciate that our customers come first...
