Since its inception in January 1986, Ballet British Columbia has quickly become an internationally respected dance company. The key artistic strength is the leadership of Artistic Director John Alleyne. His international career as a dancer with Stuttgart Ballet and The National Ballet of Canada, and the superlative classical training he received at The National Ballet School in Toronto, have had a significant impact on the quality of BBC's productions and the positive public perception of the company.
