Austin Insulators employs approximately 25 people and designs, manufactures, and supplies Radio Frequency (RF) insulators to numerous customers around the world. Over 90% of all RF insulator products manufactured in Canada by Austin Insulators are exported. Major users of our insulator products worldwide include: commercial and government radio broadcast organizations, defence related high power broadcasters, and low frequency radio navigation systems. Our product line is complemented with custom designed products which are engineered and built to the exacting specifications of the customer.
Austin designs and manufactures a wide range of radio insulators for antennas operating from Medium Wave (MW) to Long Wave (LW) to Very Low Frequency (VLF) band. Our standard range of Insulators are capable of mechanical working loads up to 250 tons while withstanding 250 kV rms at Radio Frequencies (RF). They are also capable of surviving lightning impulse values in excess of 8,000 kV.
