Years of struggle ensued as Sal worked at combining his expertise while contending with volatile markets and economic downturns. Astra started out as a local supplier of screw machine products and turned parts and has grown to a company providing custom products and services worldwide. Sal and Louise raised their family and then, one by one, each of the children joined the company and work together in making Astra the success it is today. Sal brought innovation and quality workmanship to the industry he serves.

Astra Precision was founded in 1973 in the city of Toronto, ON Canada. Sal Trichilo, purchased the company from the founders and moved it to Brampton, ON where it remains today.
