For more than 30 years, Archipelago's Marine Environmental Services (MES) Division has worked with government, industry, and municipal groups to balance the changing needs of our coastal communities with the unique requirements of near-shore and offshore marine habitats.

Established in 1978, Archipelago Marine Research is a global provider of sustainable marine resource management products and services. From its headquarters in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, the company's team of more than 175 industry professionals works with fisheries, coastal communities, and government organizations around the world to help develop efficient, cost-effective solutions for marine resource sustainability.

The International Pacific Halibut Commission (IPHC) was established in 1923 by a Convention between the governments of Canada and the United States of America to provide research and management of the stocks of Pacific halibut. This site is a good resource for industry reports and summaries, event information, research, etc.

This distinction was based upon a range of criteria, including Archipelago’s thirty-year history in working with fisheries, governments, and coastal communities to develop and implement a range of sustainable marine resource-management practices; including fisheries management (both at-sea and dockside), coastal planning and analysis.
