Description

Stephen has a B.Sc. in Physical Anthropology from the University of Toronto and is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer. With over 20 years combined experience in field archaeology and information technology he has worked across Ontario and in the desert Southwest. Steve has combined his experience as an Archaeologist and an I.T. Professional to develop Archaeological Information Systems for the University of Toronto and is the architect of ARAIS, our proprietary archaeological information system. Stephen holds an R-level archaeological licence with the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Sport.

The Heritage team has over 30 years of combined experience in historic research and heritage consulting. Our skills include primary source research, evaluation of cultural heritage value, documentation of heritage resources and cultural heritage landscapes, public consultation and heritage policy development.

Stephanie joined us 4 years ago and brings more than 15 years of experience in her field. In her position at ARA, she supervises all accounting, bookkeeping, human resources, and policy-related activities. Her efforts to guide a motley collection of academics through the intricacies of the business world are what keeps us in business.

Sarah Clarke joined ARA in the spring of 2013, bringing with her seven years of experience in Ontario archaeology. Her experience includes conducting archival research (both local and remote), artifact cataloguing and processing, and fieldwork at various stages in both the consulting and research-based realms. As Research Manager, Sarah is responsible for conducting archival research in advance of ARA's archaeological and heritage assessments.
