Description

Prior to his current role, René was Chief Information Officer for the firm until 2011 and was also responsible for the Health & Welfare (H&W) outsourcing business. Before joining Morneau Shepell, he held various executive positions in IT and outsourcing at another major consulting and outsourcing firm. Throughout his career, René has led both the business side and the technology delivery for Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution pensions and H&W administration, as well as built technology in the EAP and health management space. He has close to 25 years of experience in the employee benefits industry with the last 16 years in management roles in operations and business development.

The recent commencement of AIDS vaccine trials on 40 babies in Kenya raises hope for discovery of a way to stop the spread of one of the most serious diseases ever to affect humanity. As an organisation working with communities to improve health in Africa, AMREF has first-hand knowledge and experience of the effects of HIV and AIDS on those who are infected and affected, particularly in the remotest and poorest parts of the continent.
