Prince Edward Island has two full service hospitals and five small regional hospitals. In addition, there are numerous medical clinics, some with walk-in service. Each of the health regions in PEI are fully accredited by the Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation. Specialty services are offered in several areas including the PEI Cancer Treatment Centre. When necessary, patients are referred off Island (no further than travelling for specialized treatment in other regions of Canada).
