Al-Terra has successfully provided consulting engineering and project management services since 1976. The company takes pride in offering the knowledge and the experience necessary to provide its private and public sector clients with customized, cost-effective, and innovative solutions. Al-Terra has significant experience in managing teams of consultants and other firms to carry out large projects. As well, the company is able to provide expertise in non-technical matters such as policy development and project management.

Al-Terra is employee-owned and many of its staff started out with the company as co-op students. “This organic recruitment approach continues to serve our company and our employees well,” says Broks. To honour both the company founder and his wife, and the success this approach has had on the firm, Al-Terra has established the Leo & Vivian Broks Scholarship, which will be awarded to two engineering students who work at Al-Terra. Two $5,000 scholarships will be awarded annually.

Led by the vision of City of Edmonton – Corporate Properties Land Services to create an “Eco-Industrial Park”, Al-Terra Engineering with sub-consultants EIDOS Consultants and Spencer Environmental provided consulting services to develop Rampart Industrial, a greenfield development which successfully integrated functional and marketable industrial sites with existing ecological features. A retained woodland and wetland are reconnected through bioswales and a dedicated wildlife crossing provides small animal passage.
