A.C.M. Environmental Corporation (ACM) was formed in 1989 when the principals of the company identified a specific need for Industry based experience in the field of consulting and project management for asbestos abatement and other environmental projects. Possessing over 13 years of previous experience completing environmental projects, it was a natural progression for the principals of ACM to provide the much needed expertise in these fields. Since 1989, ACM has been involved with WorkSafe BC (previously Workers' Compensation Board of BC, or WCB) and other regulatory agencies and organizations assisting in the development of standards and training programs to all levels of the environmental industry. Our President - Mr. Jari Saarela, is one of the principal authors of the Asbestos Abatement Association (now the Hazardous Materials Association (HMA)) of British Columbia’s Standards Manuals and has also held the position of Chairperson on the advisory committee of the HMA involved in the implementation of standards and training programs to all levels of the environmental industry. Molds (moulds) are commonly found in areas exposed to water damage such as flooded homes, buildings constructed during wet weather, or prior marijuana grow operations . Most homes and outdoor environments will normally contain small amounts of mold. In order to reproduce, molds generate tiny airborne spores, floating through the air continually indoors and outdoors. When mold spores land on damp areas indoors, they may begin growing. Molds commonly grow on surfaces such as wood, paper, carpet, and foods, often becoming unmanageable when excessive moisture or water accumulates indoors.
