4-H Ontario News The Olympics of 4-H Dairy Shows! 360 of Canada's top dairy youth from 51 teams across 7 Canadian provinces took part in the 31st annual Canadian 4-H Classic Junior Dairy Show at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair on November 6-8, 2010. 4-H members age 12-21 demonstrated the 4-H motto of "Learn to Do by Doing" as they worked together to produce top quality displays and exceptionally well-groomed animals, and interact with the public. Many new friendships were made and existing ones strengthened as the participants competed as individuals and as teams at the "Olympics" of 4-H Dairy Shows. Read More >> Victory for Lanark 4-H Association at the 2010 4-H Ontario Go For The Gold competition 4-H Ontario Go For The Gold (GFTG) is a trivia based, knowledge competition (similar to Reach for the Top) that focuses on 4-H project materials and current events. Teams must have competed at both local and regional GFTG competitions in order to qualify for the Provincial GFTG Championships. (Guelph, ON - November 7, 2010) Teams from Durham East, Huron, Haldimand, Lanark, Oxford and Sudbury 4-H Associations represented their regions in a very competitive provincial Go For The Gold competition showcasing their 4-H enthusiasm and knowledge of various 4-H projects from dairy to horse and scrapbooking to small engines and current events.
